A photograph of the mid-day ice session.

Around mid-day, the rink conditions appeared to remain below the standard other rinks hold themselves to, with a layer of water over the ice, presenting a slip hazard.

During the evening session, which closed 30 minutes earlier than anticipated, the ice was mostly acceptable, with some holes near the entrance of the rink which could catch skaters out and also some pits where curling had taken place on the rink.

The General Manager of QUEENS skate dine bowl has informed me that Curling is set to be discontinued until the Winter and that today is the final day of Curling. This is an excellent step towards improving ice quality and safety.
The entrance of the ice rink had a considerable ditch/hole which could catch skaters (especially newer ones) out.
The curling stones left many holes in the ice which were considerably deep and posed a danger for skaters of all levels.
The (excellently) coned-off section of the ice is showing considerably recovery progress.
“The Pit” - a hole which has existed for many months - is showing small signs of improvement but did not have a cone covering it.
The ice had a relatively small layer of water over the majority of its surface with areas of deeper puddles. This is an improvement over prior days but still represents a safety issue.

I am pleased that R [name redacted due to bizarre legal threat], the General Manager of QUEENS skate dine bowl, is taking swift action to raise the standards of the rink.
