After taking about a day off from writing, I'm back to tell you about what happened at QUEENS skate dine bowl since last time I wrote.

The condition of the rink was ruined reportedly due to the hot weather, whilst all other rinks around London faced no such issues. QUEENS skate dine bowl closed on the evening of the 12th for everyone except those who had made bookings already up until 9PM (they clearly didn't want to issue refunds).

The General Manager of QUEENS skate dine bowl, R [name redacted due to bizarre legal threat], said something along the lines of this paraphrased WhatsApp message (which I must paraphrase to avoid more childish legal threats):

Good evening, everyone. We apologize for the short notice. Due to the heat causing the ice to become wet, we have to cancel tonight's skate session. We can only accommodate guests with existing bookings until 9:00 PM. Online and walk-in sales are closed for tonight. Thank you!

The conditions of the ice were horrendous and entirely dangerous. The fact that QUEENS skate dine bowl continued to allow skaters on the rink at all is incredible.

QUEENS skate dine bowl's rink staff tried to use the Olympia Resurfacing Machine / Zamboni to convert their swimming pool into an ice rink again, however their efforts were futile.

One guest commented on WhatsApp:

zamboni is leaving the rink, it's still completely wet... i'm out

Regular skaters at this rink are intimately aware of the significant risk they take by skating on QUEENS skate dine bowl's soaking ice rink, because it presents a serious slip hazard and results in clothes getting as wet as if they'd just jumped into the bath tub.

Another guest commented on WhatsApp:

Take photos and videos of it later , I mean it's a good thing they are wanting the ice to get thicker but it's bad if it's so wet like that, last time I skated when it was so wet like that I just kept sliding around when I fell 😂

Here's a video of their attempt to fix the problem:

As a reminder, the General Manager of QUEENS skate dine bowl, R [name redacted due to bizarre legal threat], initially issued legal threats to me for providing his name as a point of contact for complaints, and for quoting his safety updates.

The same General Manager then indicated in a conversation face-to-face that he was not going to be following this website anymore, and that he will not change how he operates the rink just because some ice rink patrons are complaining online.

Hopefully this slightly more long-winded update shows that nothing will change unless more people simply stop booking ice skating with them, or start demanding refunds.

Did you know that QUEENS skate dine bowl will issue you a refund if you ask kindly enough? I got one for my 6 month membership! You probably can too!

QUEENS skate dine bowl, R [name redacted due to bizarre legal threat], also provided this update for Tuesday 13 August 2024 (again, paraphrased because otherwise he'll threaten me):

Additionally, please note that tomorrow evening's session will also be closed from 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM.
